Senior Application Support Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage JLL Confluent Kafka infrastructure
• Build and support highly available environment.
• Support our development teams with set up and troubleshooting
• Proactively monitor the availability and help fix issues
• Automate cluster management / routine tasks
• Set up Monitoring, Alerting, and Metrics reporting
• Conduct performance, failover testing and capacity planning
• Collaborating with the Dev Leads to ensure that the dev teams needs are met through the CI/CD framework, component monitoring and stats, incident escalation, etc
• Inculcating infrastructure as code mentality in the DevOps team overall
• Participate in event-driven, real-time data pipelines.
• Estimate customer stories and technical tasks in the Product Backlog.
• Contribute to a culture committed to the continuous delivery of value and outstanding customer service.
• Promote organizational learning and transparency with open documentation and technical presentations.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Familiar with Kafka security
• Experience with Schema Registry, Kafka Connectors, ksqlDB
• Experience with Confluent Cloud a big plus (Preferred)
• Experience with Elastic Search a big plus (Preferred)
• Familiar with delivery semantics, ability to guide the developers on interfacing with Kafka and publishing events.
• Experience in architecting a highly resilient Apache Kafka/Confluent Kafka infrastructure and deep dive knowledge in Kafka to handle enterprise Production support.
• Experience in creating stubs for producers, consumers and consumer groups for helping onboard applications from different languages/platforms.
• Experience with setup and deployment (CD) of infrastructure on Azure using deployment tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc
